About Us

Hi, I’m Rae!
Welcome to my website, THIS RAY OF SUNSHINE

From a young age I have loved making things…

I remember long glorious afternoons making cards and my own printing blocks to make my own line of stationery. I shared my love of crafting by making toys for myself and presents for others. Later in my younger adult life I also incorporated art and craft into group parties and craft activities for teenagers at school.

Fast forward many years… nowadays I want to share this love of crafting with my two children as well. It’s common for us to have several art and craft projects going on at once!

As the kids have grown older, I find that we are competing with a busy schedule and digital media for their time and attention. Often, not wanting “yet ANOTHER unfinished project lying around” stops me from getting started in the first place.

There is less time to wind down…

Less time to make something with your hands.
Sometimes we are afraid of mess and also having an unfinished project hanging around that we will never get around to.
But I have found crafting is a way for me to shut out some noise and focus on one thing. It is so satisfying when you finish something to display or gift to someone.

Crafting is something that we still love and find so much joy in doing. So, it’s time to carve out some time to be creative.
